On the Old Beach Road by Douglas Simonson

“People who really want to make a difference in the world usually do it, in one way or another. And I’ve noticed something about people who make a difference in the world: They hold the unshakable conviction that individuals are extremely important, that every life matters. They get excited over one smile. They are willing to feed one stomach, educate one mind, and treat one wound. They aren’t determined to revolutionize the world all at once; they’re satisfied with small changes. Over time, though, the small changes add up. Sometimes they even transform cities and nations, and yes, the world.”

“Few will have the greatness to bend history itself, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events. It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.”
~Robert F. Kennedy

“The purpose of life is not to be happy.
It is to be useful,
to be honorable, to be compassionate,
to have it make some difference
that you have lived and lived well.”
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Will the world around you
Be a better place because you are here?
Not sure?
You can start today.
Want a better world?
Help make the lives of the people around you better.
You have the power.
It's up to you.

This is one of my favorites by Douglas Simonson, he is a great photographer and a great artist, Thanks!
All great quotes. It is true none of us can change the world drastically, but all of us can make the world around us a better place by small acts which can grow like a snowball rolling down a hill.
