BEAUTIFUL DUET
In this final scene from AIDA
Our two heroes - lovers, Aida and Radames,
Are singing with their last breaths
Radames was convicted of being a traitor
His punishment was to be buried alive
Aida decides to die with him
And so they sing farewell to life on earth
While they sing, Amneris enters
She walks around their tomb
She walks around their tomb
And sings that she is praying for them
I didn't catch this at first
But Aida and Radames are buried in a "box"
But it would be hard for us to hear them
If they were stuck in the box
So on stage they sit on top of the box
You will notice it rise from the ground as they sing
