LYRICS

[Verse 1]

"If we can learn what it means to really love ourselves

Then we can learn to love our neighbors as we love ourselves

And we can live in harmony, see ourselves as a family

This is my prayer for humanity

[Verse 2]

That we respect our women, and protect our girls

That they feel safe in every corner of the world

That we can live in harmony, see ourselves as a family

This is my prayer for humanity, oh-oh

[Verse 3]

That every man will be a father to someone

By loving every boy as if he were his only son

That we can live in harmony, see ourselves as a family

This is my prayer

This is my prayer for humanity, oh

[Verse 4]

That we know that nobody really wins the war

 (Really wins the war)

And every leader knows what power is really for

That we can live in harmony, see ourselves as a family

This is our prayer (This is our prayer)

This is our prayer (This is our prayer)

For humanity, yeah, oh

[Outro]

And every man, woman, boy, and girl

Will hear these words all across the world

And every man, woman, boy, and girl

Will hear these words all across the world

And every man, woman, boy, and girl

Will hear these words all across the world

This is my prayer (This is my prayer)

For humanity"

Prayer for 2020

"If we can learn what it means

To really love ourselves

Then we can learn to love our neighbors

As we love ourselves

And we can live in harmony

See ourselves as a family

This is my prayer for humanity

That we respect our women

And protect our girls

That they feel safe in every

Corner of the world

That we can live in harmony

See ourselves as a family

This is my prayer for humanity,

That every man will be a

Father to someone

By loving every boy as if

He were his only son

That we can live in harmony

See ourselves as a family

This is my prayer

This is my prayer for humanity,

That we know that nobody really

Wins the war

And every leader knows

What power is really for

That we can live in harmony

See ourselves as a family

This is our prayer

This is our prayer

For humanity,

And every man, woman, boy, and girl

Will hear these words all across the world

This is my prayer

For humanity"

P R A Y E R

Each Day

The first thing I do when I wake up is to

List the things for which I am grateful.

(oo - notice how I wrote that last phrase grammatically correct even though it is not how I speak?)

What are you grateful FOR!

:  )

Perhaps it will help you to take this moment

To think of and FEEL what you are most grateful for.
(I mean for which you are grateful : )

Prayer

The Great Bell Chant

A Buddhist Prayer for the End of Suffering

~*~

I begin each day walking about a mile

around my neighborhood

I put my headphones on, click play

And begin my walk

The Great Bell Chant is the first song that plays

It helps me to be more mindful of my movements

And of all the beautiful Nature I see on my walk

Being more mindful

Helps me to realize the sacredness

Of all that I see

The sacredness of me

How I am not a separate entity

I am one with all that I see

I highly recommend that you find time

To listen to this daily

~**

This beautiful prayer

written by Zen Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh,

is chanted by brother Phap Niem.

May the sound of this bell penetrate deep into the cosmos

Even in the darkest spots

Living beings are able to hear it clearly

So that all suffering in them cease

Understanding comes to their heart

And they transcend the path of sorrow and death.

The universal dharma door is already open

The sound of the rising tide is heard clearly

The miracle happens

A beautiful child appears in the heart of a lotus flower

One single drop of this compassionate water

Is enough to bring back the refreshing spring to our mountains and rivers.

Listening to the bell

I feel the afflictions in me begin to dissolve

My mind calm

My body relax

A smile is born on my lips

Following the sound of the bell

My breath brings me back to the safe island of mindfulness

In the garden of my heart

The flowers of peace bloom beautifully.
