is a 1966 American comedy horror film starring Don Knotts as Luther Heggs, a newspaper typesetter who spends a night in a haunted house, which is located in the fictitious community of Rachel, Kansas.
I think I was about 6 years old when I saw this movie. This is the first movie I remember really being excited about. My folks had taken me to Memphis to see this movie. I remember sitting on my mother's lap on the drive back home asking her over and over again about his movie. Remember when he did this? Remember what happened then? I could not stop talking and asking questions about this movie. I was so excited!
(It also has Hitchcock's daughter, Pat, in the cast)
Granger plays a professional tennis play
(scene above is Walker watching Granger's tennis match)
Who meets Walker on a train
Walker mentions its been reported in the gossip mags
That Granger wants a divorce from his wife
So he can marry a senator's daughter
But his wife won't agree to a divorce
Walker asks Granger to murder his father
While he, Walker, will murder Granger's wife
That way no one will be the wiser as to who murdered who Criss-Cross
The perfect crime
Granger of course refuses - thinks it's all a joke but that doesn't stop Walker Who follows Granger's wife to a carnival and strangles her
(Walker's character Bruno is very deranged) Walker then keeps showing up where Granger is Pressing him to return the favor Wanting Granger to murder Walker's overbearing father
The story crescendos to the Carousel scene
I think this scene was the genesis of the entire film
Hitchcock wanted to take a family friendly carousel
and create a horrific death trap
It is truly a magnificent thrilling scene
From a very great classic film
If you ever get a chance to watch the whole movie
I highly recommend it
(I've seen it on Turner Classic Movies channel)
In this scene Walker has Granger's cigarette lighter He plans on planting it at the scene where Walker killed Granger's wife to pin the murder on Granger Granger is chasing him to get the lighter back Before the cops can catch him The cops think Granger is the murderer at this time So the struggle over the lighter ensues onto the carousel
You know that I want AOM to always be a feel good place
But in these frightening and dangerous times
I feel I have to share my thoughts and feeling from time to time
(I told you awhile back that I would do this)
I share this because I believe it is important for all of us
There are times when we have to take a stand together
We can still feel good but we do need to be aware of dangers
So we can continue feeling good and having fun together
I won't share many articles like this here but
My heart is so full of fear and foreboding for our future
Because there are signs that America is in great danger
Trump is putting the lives of American citizens in grave danger in his attempt to get re-elected. Rather than trying to protect people from violence he is trying to create violence and put people in harm's way. He would provoke a civil war just to get re-elected. This is the type of man he is. He is sowing the seeds of authoritarianism.
Trump needs to take our attention off his failed leadership on the Corona Virus. He is behind in the polls. So Trump is sending his personal paramilitary Secret Police CamoCops into major cities in order to provoke and escalate violence on the streets of those cities. He hopes to get scary campaign video footage of violent riots in those cities in order to scare America into re-electing him. He wants violent protests in America's cities which he will blame on the Democrats. He will then crush the constitutionally protected protests with his personal militia of secret police to show America that he is the law and order candidate. "Look America! Only I could save you! I am the chosen ONE! I saved you from the radical subversive thugs!" This is what Trump is doing - putting the lives of Americans in peril to scare up support and votes. Very reminiscent of what Nixon did in the election of 1968. (Remember that Nixon is Trump's hero.)
I know this because he is not following the military/police manuals concerning social unrest. The military/police manuals on social unrest (available for free online) specifically require the opposite action of what Trump is doing. The manuals call for deescalation in situations of social unrest. The manual states that for every person snatched and grabbed, ten more people will join the protest creating more chances for something bad happening. This is exactly what is happening in Portland. Trump's people know that by clamping down on a group of people will escalate and incite greater chance of violence and this is what they are going for. And now Trump is moving to do this nationwide. Nobody is this wrong by accident. This is a very dangerous situation Trump is creating for our nation with his personal militia of secret police. It's right out of the Fascist playbook - very Putin-esque.
I am gravely concerned about the safety and well-being of my fellow citizens, my country and for the world. I almost wish that all protesters throughout America would just go home until after the election in order to deny Trump any campaign footage. I know that is difficult to do - it feels wrong because their right to protest is protected by the Constitution of the United States. But Trump doesn't care about the Constitution, he wants to manipulate good-hearted protesters and cast them as a mob of violent rioters in order to scare America into voting for him. That is his plan. Please do not give that to him. Please let everyone you know the truth of what is happening so that the truth can control the narrative. Do not allow Trump's narrative to win the day.
Please make sure you are registered to vote and then on November 3, 2020, go vote for Joe Biden to save America from the criminality, insanity and chaos of Trump. Trump needs to be defeated by a large margin so that there will be no question as to who won the election. Our country needs you now more than ever.
If you read my article
Thank you for letting me share my thoughts and feelings
It makes me feel better to share them
It gives me hope that if I share this with you
Then we will all be working to save our nation together
Thank you.
((((HUGS))))
Feel free to share my article with others
I do believe that no matter what happens
We shall come through
We shall rebuild and be better
One thing Trump has been successful at doing
Is showing us the weaknesses in the structure of our government
When he is gone, we can get to work to fix things
And prevent future presidents from overreaching their power
I hope you will enjoy your visit
I wish you a beautiful day
Peace and Love,
AOM

The beguine is a dance and musical form similar to a slow rhumba. It was popular in the 1930s coming from the islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique. It is a combination of Latin folk dance and French ballroom dance and is a spirited but slow, close dance with a roll of the hips movement inherited from rumba. After Cole Porter wrote the song, "Begin the Beguine", the dance became more widely known beyond the Caribbean.
"i mean i could go on and put every scene of every movie Timothée Chalamet has ever done, but here is some of his best acting in my opinion. i truly believe he is one of the best actors of this generation and has the potential to become the next leonardo dicaprio or something. he's only 22 and acts as if he has been doing this his entire life, it's unbelievable, so talented. the movie miss stevens has some of his best dialogues ever in my opinion and i really recommend you guys watch it, it's so good."

"Our integrity sells for so little, but it is all we really have. It is the very last inch of us, but within that inch, we are free. An inch. It is small, and is fragile, and it is the only thing in the world worth having. We must never lose it, or give it away. We must never let them take it from us."

"But what I hope most of all is that you understand what I mean when I tell you: that even though I do not know you, and even though I may never meet you, laugh with you, cry with you, or kiss you... I love you. With all my heart, I love you."

"This scene gave me a glimpse of the struggle that many LGBT people have had to face and this was way before I had even heard of the LGBT rights movement. While I may never know what it's like to struggle with acceptance for your sexual orientation or gender identity, at least this scene gave me some perspective of the issue." (YouTube Comment)
"This movie changed my life; made realize how primitive my way of thinking was against people. Individuality is perhaps the most important thing needed to balance out Collectivist behaviour in our world." (YouTube Comment)
"...she never faltered or strayed from who she was on this earth. She embraced it. She held onto that inch that makes every human different and precious..." (YouTube Comment)
