Radio KAOM: Thomas Bergersen "American Dream"

SUPER EPIC INSPIRING ENERGY

Artwork by Ryo Ishido

 A Note from AOM:
Listening to symphonic music is like going on a hike - the further you walk, the more grand, beautiful vistas you will encounter. As you journey through this music you will be rewarded by gorgeous musical, emotionally glorious moments. I highly recommend you listen to this extraordinary symphonic suite. Enjoy your hike!

~*~

"This was a symphony, not a collection of songs. This album is well worth the listen. It is inspiring and gorgeous. The music is filled with optimism and it is something sorely needed in days such as these. Give it a listen, you won't regret it."(Amazon Review)

~*~

American Dream by Thomas Bergersen
is an orchestral suite that follows the journey of a young boy who travels from Europe to America in the early 1900s in search for adventure, fortune and happiness. The music explores an extensive musical language ranging from baroque to modern classical music, all tied together in the overarching and distinct style of Thomas’ musical language. The suite was written for a large symphony orchestra and choir, and performed by the Bulgarian Studio Orchestra Four For Music under the direction of George Strezov.

American Dream, released on August 1, 2018, is the third stand-alone (solo) album and also the first symphonic suite written by Thomas Bergersen.

Another NOTE from AOM:
This piece of music is 43 minutes long
There is so much going on in this piece
That I suggest you visit all the other posts
Then come back to listen to this
I recommend that you do nothing else but listen
I do think using your hands and fingers
To conduct and keep time will help you get into this music better
Stay with this one
It has a most glorious finale
Brought tears of joy to my eyes
It was so gloriously beautiful
I heard sections that reminded me of other great composers
One sounded like Beethoven
Another Bach
An Irish Jig and a Spanish Malaguena
I could hear the influences of Aaron Copeland
John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Elmer Bernstein, Jerry Goldsmith,

This music is an event that is best experienced
By being totally immersed in the music
Immerse yourself in this Hike
There are glorious and exciting moments to be experienced
ENJOY YOUR HIKE!

MUSIC VIDEO: "Colors of Love" by Thomas Bergersen (Letizia1989)

MASTERFUL TRIFECTA!!!A Favorite
Musical Composition
Music Video
Movie Clip

"The theme of the video is the love for music and musical instruments. Each notes create a different natural landscape or element. The man can, in this way, feel part of Nature itself.  And so the "Colors of Love" have been created; they are made of hope, strength, tenderness, freedom ..... MUSIC" (Letizia1989)

Before we listen to today's selection
Please watch the short intro I've selected
I think it is a perfect intro to the music video
The clip is from one of my favorite movies
A very important film
Pleasantville

In this clip, we see two characters
Living in a monochrome world
The younger man, Bud, (Tobey Maguire)
Shows the older man, Mr. Johnson, (Jeff Daniels)
The wonders of art in color
A world that Mr. Johnson has never imagined before

I was chatting with a friend yesterday,
(Our French Horn Friend)

MUSIC: "High C's" by Thomas Bergersen (Two Steps from Hell)

GLORIOUSLY EXCITING!!!

The Music:
"Two Steps from Hell is an American production music company based in Los Angeles, California, founded by Thomas Bergersen and Nick Phoenix in 2006. The company focuses predominantly on movie and trailer music, and has supplied tracks to films such as Interstellar, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, and X-Men." (Wikipedia)

The Album:
"'Vanquish' is the tenth studio album by the group Two Steps from Hell, released on 2 December 2016. It consists of 17 tracks written by composers Thomas J. Bergersen and Nick Phoenix. The album is the first major public release to include no material from industry album releases." (Wikipedia)

I hear echoes in this music of
John Williams and Hans Zimmer
Two great composers of our time

The more I listen to this
The more familiar I become
The more I really like it
Today
While listening to it for about the 4th time
I had my eyes closed as I was conducting it
Then
I became aware that my toes were curling
That is a definite sign that I was loving it

Man, he loves the French Horn
And so do I
