 A CLASSIC & IT'S COVER

And this one time at Band Camp
(YES! Band Camp! I did go to Band Camp : )
We had six dances during those two weeks
This was the final song of each dance

It is often considered the best rock song

MUSIC: "Sultans Of Swing" by Dire Straits

Super Groovy Groove

A little hot tune to take us into the weekend

A song about musicians
who play for the love of Music
"It ain't about fancy guitars, record deals,
insane soloing, pleasin' the ladies;
it's about feeling the music
and giving it all your heart and soul."
(YouTube Comment)

Mark Knopfler is one of the great guitarists of our time
Sit back and enjoy his music

Mark Knopfler - Vocals, Lead Guitar
David Knopfler - Rhythm Guitar
John Illsley - Bass Guitar
Pick Withers - Drums

*Lyrics*

"You get a shiver in the dark,
It's a raining in the park but meantime-
South of the river you stop and you hold everything
A band is blowing Dixie, double four time
You feel alright when you hear the music ring
Well now you step inside but you don't see too many faces
Coming in out of the rain they hear the jazz go down
Competition in other places
Uh but the horns they blowin' that sound
Way on downsouth
Way on downsouth
London town
Check out guitar george, he knows-all the chords
Mind he's strictly rhythm he doesn't want to make them cry or sing
They said an old guitar is all, he can afford

When he gets up under the lights to play his thing

And Harry doesn't mind, if he doesn't, make the scene
He's got a daytime job, he's doing alright
He can play the honky tonk like anything
Savin' it up, for Friday night
With the Sultans
We're the Sultans of Swing
Then a crowd a young boys they're a foolin' around in the corner
Drunk and dressed in their best brown baggies and their platform soles
They don't give a damn about any trumpet playin' band
It ain't what they call rock and roll
Then the Sultans
Yeah the Sultans they play creole, creole

And then the man he steps right up to the microphone
And says at last just as the time bell rings
Goodnight, now it's time to go home
And he makes it fast with one more thing

We are the Sultans
We are the Sultans of Swing"

MUSIC: "Ice Cream Man" by Van Halen

One of the most creative band logos EVER!

 BALLS TO THE WALL
Let's Wake This Place The Phuck UP!
:  )

The music of Van Halen was the sound of my spirit
In the late 70s and early 80s
And still
It resounds deeply in my spirit today

I get so excited when I listen
To one of the greatest Hard Rock Bands of all time
(just my opinion - and I'm right : )

Brings back fond memories from when I first
Ventured out on my own into life as a young adult
And the music of Van Halen was my Soundtrack

The Van Halen I MOST LOVED
Was from 1974 - 1985
from left to right: David Lee Roth, Alex Van Halen, Eddie Van Halen, Michael Anthony

Eddie Van Halen
One of the great guitarists of all time
David Lee Roth
One of the great Sexually Raw Showmen
Alex Van Halen
Great Drummer Putting down the beats
Michael Anthony
Great Bassist Laying down the bass

They had a special combination of talents
They were different from all the rest
Virtuosity, Musical Artistry, Energy and the Experience
Really set them a part

One of the things I admired about them
Was that on every album
(And YES - I have them all)
They'd have one song that was so different
from what you would expect from a Hard Rock band

Here's one of my favorites of those "different" songs
It is from their first album
In it you can hear the influence of Blues on Rock n Roll
Just sit back and listen to Eddie Van Halen's virtuosity
Truly one of the great musicians of our time

I also Love the sexual connotations of this song
And David Lee Roth was so perfect at performing it
He could make any song so deliciously sexy
: )

Van Halen
"Ice Cream Man"

Note the amazing Eddie Van Halen
on lead guitar at the 1:45 minute mark
Try "air guitaring" that!!!
Careful - you might break something
And again
Listen to how Eddie's guitar Sings
Back and Forth with David Lee at the 2:38 minute mark

I wish y'all could see me air guitar the music of Van Halen
:  )

This is absolutely PHUCKING PHANTASTIC!!!!
(I use explicit language when I get super excited
It's the kid in me - I can't help it! - it's fucking great!)
