AOM Meditations: 102120

by William Trost Richards

Thanks to our Friend, David, for sending us this beautiful art

~*~

“Vulnerability really means to be strong and secure enough within yourself that you are able to walk outside without your armor on. You are able to show up in life as just you. That is genuine strength and courage. Armor may look tough, but all it does is mask insecurity and fear.”

~Alaric Hutchinson
(Living Peace)

~*~

“Vulnerability means fearlessly keeping the door to your heart open. A tender heart that does not try to protect itself and remains open to experience, accepting, loving, and forgiving under all circumstances, is an unbreakable heart.”

~Shai Tubali
(Unlocking the 7 Secret Powers of the Heart)

~*~

“It’s the hard things that break; soft things don’t break. It was an epiphany I had today and I just wonder why it took me so very, very long to see it! You can waste so many years of your life trying to become something hard in order not to break; but it’s the soft things that can’t break! The hard things are the ones that shatter into a million pieces!”

~C. JoyBell C.

~*~

“Society has taught us that vulnerability is synonymous with weakness—but it’s just the opposite. Vulnerability is the willingness to show up and be seen by others in the face of uncertain outcomes. There’s not a single act of courage that doesn’t involve vulnerability.”

~Brené Brown

~*~

“Vulnerability is the only authentic state. Being vulnerable means being open, for wounding, but also for pleasure. Being open to the wounds of life means also being open to the bounty and beauty. Don’t mask or deny your vulnerability: it is your greatest asset. Be vulnerable: quake and shake in your boots with it. the new goodness that is coming to you, in the form of people, situations, and things can only come to you when you are vulnerable, i.e. open.”

~Stephen Russell
(Barefoot Doctor's Guide to the Tao)

More great quotes to take in and digest. I never looked at it this way, but Brene Brown is right, “Society has taught us that vulnerability is synonymous with weakness—but it’s just the opposite." If you really think about it, it is true!

Thanks!
