MUSIC: Beethoven Symphony No. 7: Fishcher and the RCO

GLORIOUS WOW!!!!

Innovative Interpretation
Powerful Performance
Exquisite Recording

Comments from YouTube:

"Soaring, sublime mystical music!

"Superb maestro Iván Fische."

"As a conductor myself, I can fully appreciate the genius of Ivan Fischer. He brings out the various voices and nuances in a very unique way. The orchestra responds to his every expression...watching this performance should be worth college credits in a conducting class."

"the most beautiful interpretation of the 7th symphony!, it's like listening to it for the first time."

"I hear a few instruments I've never heard on other recordings."

"Have heard dozens of performances of the 7th. This is one of the best, IMO. A lot is attributable to the recordists, invisible, yet how they place microphones and mix the sound is crucial to the impact."

"Credit to the sound engineers for bringing out all the nuances of this magnificent orchestra - The audio quality is superb!"

MUSIC: "Symphony 7: 1st Movement" by Ludwig van Beethoven

THE GREAT LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN

GLORIOUS JOY!!!!

A Friend from AOM wrote to me
About our love of the French horn
In the E-mail he mentioned
Beethoven's 7th Symphony
As a great one for the French horn
So that led me to listen to it again

This week we shall listen to
Beethoven's 7th Symphony
Instead of spending over 40 minutes
To listen to the whole thing
I thought we could break it down
And listen to one movement a day
So
Today we will start with the first movement
The video today is a performance of the entire symphony
But I only want us to listen to the first movement
It is about 14 minutes

My take on this movement:
This movement starts out very majestic and proud. Three minutes and 27 seconds into it, it gets really quiet. The woodwinds and the strings start talking back and forth to each other. They seem to want to have more fun. Finally the flute  takes the lead and starts singing a fun, happy melody. Soon everyone joins in for some fun. They are so happy that the music explodes in JOY at the 4:20 mark. SO JOYFUL!!! Galloping around in pure blissful JOY! You should see me conduct this one, punching the air and dancing around in total bliss.

I hope you will give it a chance
Let it take you on its journey
To the place of pure JOY!

Remember:
ONLY LISTEN TO THE FIRST MOVEMENT!!
I MEAN IT!
You will get a spanking if you listen to more of it.
Oh! Actually that might entice some of you to listen to more.
: )
Nah! Go ahead and listen to all you want - but
Tomorrow we will listen to the second movement here.
The Second is a great favorite of many - including me.
But that's for tomorrow! : )
