In it's overzealous campaign

To prohibit people of seeing human beings naked

It is my conclusion

that a great number of Americans 

must be suffering from a dis'ease'

Something is really f'd up in the American culture

To bring about such attacks and prohibitions

Against the Natural Human Body

I know how we got here -
A culture dominated by a misguided view
Of religious teachings created by men
who sought to control others

I hope we can find the cure

Personally, I think more nakedness is needed

The more naked the world gets

The less "threatening" naked will be

When something becomes

A normal, everyday occurrence 

Then we stop thinking about it

It just is

And I hope one day

The vast majority of people will wake up
And learn to shuck off their cultural shackles
Stop believing the lies 
of those who wish to control them
And learn to live free
By their own leave

With all the Tumblr mess going on

So today's posts suffered

I didn't post Meditations or Music today

But I did manage a Snack Pack for you

So here's what's going on

First 

let me reassure you

None of this directly affects AOMMD

AOMMD is on Google's Blogger platform

Which has nothing to do with Tumblr's platform

Totally different companies

So please don't worry

Tumblr has changed their policy

And will no longer allow any NSFW content

(Not Safe for Work)

Everything from hard core porn

To artistic nudes must go

Here's what I posted yesterday

Tumblr to Censor “Adult Content”

And just what is “Adult Content” ???

From Tumblr: “Adult content primarily includes photos, videos, or GIFs that show real-life human genitals or female-presenting nipples, and any content—including photos, videos, GIFs and illustrations—that depicts sex acts.” (tumblr)

What is still permitted?

"Examples of exceptions that are still permitted are exposed female-presenting nipples in connection with breastfeeding, birth or after-birth moments, and health-related situations, such as post-mastectomy or gender confirmation surgery. Written content such as erotica, nudity related to political or newsworthy speech, and nudity found in art, such as sculptures and illustrations, are also stuff that can be freely posted on Tumblr." So HERE WE GO - Tumblr (VERIZON) is imposing upon us the idea that viewing the Natural Beauty of the Real-Life Human Body is the same as viewing obscene pornographic sex acts.

Hoping that they would help make a difference

I mean you gotta do something

You can't just sit back and do nothing

My thoughts on the Death of Tumblr

Why this matters to me and AOMMD

Well, how do we deal with the changes coming to Tumblr. I guess the AOM Meditations I wrote yesterday can speak to this situation. How do we deal with impermanence in this life"? Well, we accept the reality of the situation, let it go, move on and adapt to our new reality. We had a good run on Tumblr but now it appears that the party is over. (I will cherish the good times.) Moving on can be challenging but it can also be an adventure of new opportunities. 

From what I've read, it seems that tumblr will go through with their purge of NSFW content. Tumblr is considered by many as the "sewer of the Internet" because of all the "porn". But beyond that,  it has also been a haven for many people who have been searching to understand their sexuality. Through meeting folks and reading helpful Tumblr blogs, they have been able to find help from others. Places like tumblr has been a life-line for me and for so many others around the world.

On a more personal level, I will miss being able to easily go down my dashboard and select the images for AOMMD. After years of searching all over the Internet for different blogs or websites to find pix to share, Tumblr had them all in one place. Tumblr made it so easy for me to find great content to post. Tumblr also was very helpful by introducing me to new artists and art photographers. Over the decade I've been blogging, I can say with certainty that Tumblr has helped to improve the content I am able to serve here on AOMMD.

If my guess is correct, Tumblr will go ahead with their plan and eradicate all NSFW content blogs on December 17. Even AOM SoulFood Tea Garden, my own tumblr, will be taken down because I have artistic pix of nude men. (Thar be wieners thar!) Yep. No boners, but there are some wieners shown there. I may go through and delete the "offending" wiener pix or I may just delete my account because honestly, I don't know what I can and cannot post on my Tumblr blog.

The bots that scan for porn are flagging many pix that are obviously not porn or sexual in any way.  So how in the world can we know what we can or cannot post. It seems pointless to even have a tumblr blog of any kind. 

I may be wrong, but my hunch is that tumblr is dying a slow death. So I will try to move on and adapt - just go with the flow. I'm still angry about the situation but there isn't much I can do other than do what I've done. I got angry, created protest banners and posted them on tumblr (as I did yesterday), and continue to wait it out to see if Tumblr can pull itself out of this death spiral. 

Let us hope and pray, 

AOMMD will continue to be safe
