AOM Meditations: 042220

Cast a Spell by Marcos Chin

Quotes from Thich Nhat Hanh
(A Teacher I admire)

“Around us, life bursts with miracles--a glass of water, a ray of sunshine, a leaf, a caterpillar, a flower, laughter, raindrops. If you live in awareness, it is easy to see miracles everywhere. Each human being is a multiplicity of miracles. Eyes that see thousands of colors, shapes, and forms; ears that hear a bee flying or a thunderclap; a brain that ponders a speck of dust as easily as the entire cosmos; a heart that beats in rhythm with the heartbeat of all beings. When we are tired and feel discouraged by life's daily struggles, we may not notice these miracles, but they are always there.”

~Thich Nhat Hanh

“I have noticed that people are dealing too much with the negative, with what is wrong. ... Why not try the other way, to look into the patient and see positive things, to just touch those things and make them bloom?”

~Thich Nhat Hanh

AOM Meditations: 052120

The Two Majesties (1883) by Jean-Léon Gérôme

This is the best description of AOM's mission
Why I do what I do
This is a quote I read to start each day
So let us call this quote
AOM's Mission Statement

“To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness.

What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives. If we see only the worst, it destroys our capacity to do something. If we remember those times and places—and there are so many—where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction.

And if we do act, in however small a way, we don’t have to wait for some grand Utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory.”

Namaste Sweetie! 020719

Namaste Sweetie,

Happy Thor's Day!!!

I'm so glad you are here with me today
We are going to explore
PerSPECTive

Notice the word part "SPECT"
As in Spectacles, Spectacular, Spectators,
And I 'Spect you to wank at least three times today
:  )
Well that last one may be a bit off
I do 'spect you to do that three times
But SPECT has to do with seeing
and
Our Mental Point of View
How we see things in Life
:  )

The way I view (my perspective of ) Perspective
Is that all of us are sitting in a circle
Something in the center of that circle happens
We each see what we see from where we are sitting
None of us will completely agree on what we saw
We will all have our own view of it
We each see things from our own point of view
So trying to make everyone think alike
Is not possible
That's how I see it
And if you don't
Then you are just wrong, wrong, wrong!!!
:  )

So all but one of the posts today
Has something to do with perspective

I hope you will enjoy our expedition

I wish you a day that is wonderful from your perspective
:  )

Peace and Love,
AOM

of our return to success in football

“What we do see depends mainly on what we look for. ... In the same field the farmer will notice the crop, the geologists the fossils, botanists the flowers, artists the colouring, sportsmen the cover for the game. Though we may all look at the same things, it does not all follow that we should see them.”
