Hello, everyone! This is Sarah, Phil's niece, once again. I wanted to make another post for some updates and address a few concerns brought to my attention.
Firstly, I am so overwhelmed by the messages and well wishes I have received in the past twenty-four hours. It is clear my uncle meant a lot to so many and having him a part of your day has been a light in your lives. That makes my heart swell and I am so overjoyed.
Second, I have had several messages requesting that I do not take down the blog. I have no intention of doing so. What my uncle has created is a vast body of work that he obviously labored many hours over. Not only do I want to respect what he has done, but I want to leave it as a reminder for those who found solace in his posts. I want this to continue to be a resource for those who need it -- for my uncle's message of life, joy, and tranquility to remain for all the world to see.
However, I must say that as much as I would love to continue the blog in his honor, I know I would not be able to capture the essence that my uncle worked so hard to cultivate over the years. So this will be the final post of AOM. Of course, if any of his followers were so compelled to pick up where he left off, I am positive Phil would love for his message to continue.
Finally, I have been corresponding with several of you personally. Unfortunately, I will not have access to his computer/passwords for much longer as I will be returning to my new home of Tulsa in the following days. For those who would still like to send messages or continue to correspond with me, I have set up an email just for that purpose: forphilaom@gmail.com
Feel free to contact me at any time. Send me anything. Be it quotes you think he would have liked, a song that reminds you of him, a good movie recommendation. Yes, even pictures of Tom Daly. (It's funny, I wish I had known his preference before. I always need more people to fawn over Armie Hammer with.) More than anything, I want to keep the spirit of AOM alive. And perhaps, a little selfishly, I want to learn more about my uncle: the people he left behind and the lives that he touched. He is my family and you are his. I want to continue to love you as he did in any way that I can.
Again, thank you all so much for being so kind during this time. My family and I are just simply blown away. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
With peace and love forever,
Sarah
