Friday Night, after my long, hot bath

INSPIRATIONAL!!!!!

When things are dark

Let this music be a light

(not literally of course - you'll wind up bumping into walls and furniture : )

Twice this weekend

I caught the end of the movie, Rudy 

It is a true story about Rudy Ruettiger 

A boy growing up with a dream

A dream to play football for the University of Notre Dame

He wasn't big enough to play football

He wasn't talented enough to play football

But with sheer will and determination

Against all odds

He actually made his impossible dream come true

In the last game of his senior year

He got to play the last two plays of the game

And - On the last play of the game

He actually sacked the Georgia Tech quarterback

The other players on the team were so happy for him

That they hoisted him up on their shoulders

And carried him off the field

(Something that has not happened since)

It is a most inspirational story and movie

What makes the movie even more inspirational

Is the inspired musical score by 

the late, great Jerry Goldsmith

One of the greatest composers of our time

OH!

And both times I watched it

I had tears streaming down my face

LOL

I can't help it

The story along with the music

Bring tears of joy to my eyes

Oh! And by the way -

LISTEN TO THEM FRENCH HORNS!!!!

Jerry sure knew how to compose for 'em

Light brings forth Form

 Chiaroscuro

"The fine art term "chiaroscuro" (from the Italian for "light-dark") describes the prominent contrast of light and shade in a painting, drawing or print, and the skill demonstrated by the artist in the management of shadows to create the illusion of three-dimensional forms." (Wikipedia)
