Glory of Naturism: 010318

Your clothes conceal much of your beauty,
yet they hide not the unbeautiful.
And though you seek in garments the freedom of privacy
you may find in them a harness and a chain.
Would that you could meet the sun and the wind
with more of your skin and less of your raiment,
For the breath of life is in the sunlight
and the hand of life is in the wind.

Some of you say,
"It is the north wind who has woven the clothes to wear."
But shame was his loom,
and the softening of the sinews was his thread.
And when his work was done he laughed in the forest.

Forget not that modesty is for a shield
against the eye of the unclean.
And when the unclean shall be no more,
what were modesty but a fetter and a fouling of the mind?
And forget not that the earth delights
to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.

Making the Tea by Charles Spencelayh

“The art of tea, whichever way you drink it, or whichever country you are from, has one underlining thread for all of us. It is the cultivation of yourself as you follow the ceremony of preparing your tea, the way in which you make your tea, how and where you drink it, and with whom. Making a cup of tea creates a space for just being.”

~Nicola Salter

Namaste Sweetie! Happy 2018

Jason Bacall from Bel Ami

Namaste Sweetie,

Happy Tuesday
and
Happy New Year!!!!

I hope you had a phabulous holiday
I'm a so glad and so blessed
To have you with me
I wish us all a Happy, Healthy New Year

~*~

 You know me
I always try to stay positive
Always look on the brighter side
But a Pollyanna I ain't
I don't always feel so positive
About the current state of affairs of state
You know how positive I can be
Well
I can be just as negative - Scary negative
And if I'm not careful - Mindful
I can easily be overwhelmed
By darkness, depression and despair
So I wrote this little ditty
To express why I maintain hope in times like these
And do what I do
And do be do be do

There has forever been
And will forever be
A constant struggle
Between Light and Dark
And when it seems
Like it seems right now in our current events
That the darkness will overtake our Light
I sing of hope, of peace, of love
And the more of us who sing this Light
The brighter our world will be

I Choose
To emanate positive vibrations
To keep my candle lit
To dream and to work
That all may know the sweet goodness of Life
Because I've known the ecstasy
Of Mozart and Beethoven,
Puccini's arias and Van Gogh's vibrant colors
Because I've savored the world's finest teas
Been buzzed off my ass on wine and weed
Inhaled the intoxicating fragrance of daffodils
And swam naked in crystal clear streams
Because I've talked and giggled with Friends into those wee hours
Sharing the dreams and the passions of our souls
Stared deeply into the eyes of my loved ones
And made love to the love of my loving life
in the cool undulating waters of a moonlit pool
I've tasted the sweet goodness of Life
Life is Good
And all who enter into this world
Should have the right and means to experience it
We are all just travelers here
We brought nothing and will leave with nothing
So while we still have time here on earth
Let us share with each other
So that all may enjoy the goodness of Life
Let us continuously plant the seeds of hope, of peace, of love
Let us joyfully, lovingly cultivate the fruit trees
of Truth and Beauty
of Kindness and Compassion
of Peace and Love
That will give Hope, Cause and Sustenance to all who Live

Let us be heroes
Of whom future generations will sing

I invite you to join me now in this short Metta Prayer
Radiating the energy of peace and love out to all living beings
Take a few deep breaths to clear your mind
And focus on the here and now
This present moment
Now
Breathe in
Filling your being with peace and love
As you begin each line, breathe out slowly
Breathing these thoughts into the world
Reading, thinking, and feeling the words with peace and love
Sending them from your heart
Giving the energy to yourself and to all living beings
Breathe in and repeat the process for each line

"There are four things I invite you all to contemplate for the new year in the coming days. They are: a seed to plant, a wave to surf, a wound to heal, a burden to drop.

By examining these four ideas and setting them as intentions going into January, you will have tangible goals for the somewhat intangible challenges in our lives.

A seed to plant. No lasting change happens overnight. If we really wish to make a substantial change in the new year, then we must be ready to nurture and grow that change. Start small and let it expand naturally. Contemplate what you would like to plant for your life in the coming year.

A wave to surf. Not everything is under our control. Sometimes the hardest work is learning to surrender to your limits. What is something you just need to accept this coming year? Far from admitting defeat, this newfound acceptance will become a source of flow for you. Decide what you need to stop fighting and instead start surfing upon it.

A wound to heal. Has there been a past pain or event that you have been walking with up until now? What are some ways you have avoided healing or even become attached to this wound? Choose a past grievance to forgive, a hangup to get over, or a traumatic event to work on accepting.

A burden to drop. What “ought” and “should” thoughts have you been carrying around? Examine what identities or ambitions you have been knowingly or unknowingly carrying with you. Which of these hold you back? Which of them actively cause you pain because you are compelled to lug them around? Find one that no longer serves its purpose and drop it."

I go now to the wilderness to be a part of it;
to accept my place in the world and its place in me;
to grow into reality as a tree grows into the rain,
to conform to the Earth
as a stream conforms to the stones of its bed.
To live.  To aspire.  To be.
